The Legacy Kit by Adidas has been unveiled as the New York Red Bulls primary jersey for the 2024 MLS season. This striking red jersey features distinctive black vertical zig-zagging stripes adorning the front, complemented by Adidas’s iconic three white stripes along each shoulder and white lettering.
The prominent Red Bull logo takes center stage on the front, with the club’s emblem positioned in the upper left corner. Completing the ensemble are black shorts and red socks with a black trim.
The unveiling of a new kit in February wasn’t exclusive to the Red Bulls; indeed, MLS and Adidas had scheduled all 29 of its clubs to reveal their new kits over a four-day period from Feb. 14-17. As a nod to the Red Bulls’ status as one of MLS’s original 10 teams, they had the honor of showcasing their new kit on day one, alongside Sporting Kansas City, New England Revolution, Philadelphia Union, Charlotte FC, and Portland Timbers.
The primary red hue of the kit, along with the striking black lines and subtle yellow accents, pays homage to the club that preceded the Red Bulls, the New York/New Jersey MetroStars. (A lot different with the 2023 edition).
Renowned for their commitment to nurturing homegrown talent, the Red Bulls boast the highest number of academy and senior team players originating from the New York/New Jersey area. This jersey is designed to inspire the next generation of local talent. Since their rebranding in 2006, New York has predominantly sported a white home kit and a red or navy-blue away kit, along with a third and alternate jersey.
This year’s kit change marks the fifth time in 18 years since the club’s rebranding that they will don a brand-new home kit. You can buy it in the MLS Store.
